About Greenspan & Associates, Inc.
In 1996, Jim Greenspan became the sole owner of Glass, Katz & Greenspan, Inc. and changed the company's name to Greenspan & Associates, Inc. Our company is presently responsible for the administration of over five hundred (500) pension plans.
Greenspan & Associates, Inc. is owned and operated right here in Encino, CA. Other companies may offer similar services, but our services are the best and come with a personal touch.
Jim Greenspan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the Liberal Arts School at University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of Finance. He began his actuarial career as an intern at Mutual of Omaha while still in high school. While in college he continued his internship over the summers at The Equitable of New York.
After moving to Los Angles, he began his own pension consulting practice in 1985 and served as a consultant to many local firms. Then in 1991, he became a partner of Glass, Katz & Greenspan, Inc., a pension administration firm. Finally, in 1996, he became the sole owner and changed the company's name to Greenspan & Associates, Inc.
Jim is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the Society of Pension Actuaries, and an Enrolled Actuary.
Jeffrey D. Wadle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of Rochester. He entered the pension industry in 1983 in New Jersey. He moved to Los Angeles in 1985 and worked at several local firms before joining Greenspan & Associates, Inc. in 1994.
Jeffrey serves as a technical expert and assists on complex plan designs for defined benefit and defined contribution plan.
He is the primary author of our new volume submitter and prototype plans and is working on the amendment and restatement of plans due to new pension legislation.
Although he mostly uses his great math abilities in the pension business, he also applies them to playing, and usually winning, poker.
Jong G. Kim earned a Bachelor of Science in Bunsiness Administration from the University of California at Berkeley. He has over 14 years of experience in the pension industry. As an actuarial consultant, Jong helps clients with plan design and implementation as well as administration of their retirement plans.
Jong has experience working on a wide variety of retirement plans including plans with a large number of lives needing intricate business solutions to retirement plans with owner only participant needing very specialized solutions.
Before joining Greenspan & Associates, Inc., Jong was a Senior Associate with the large consulting firm. Jong is a visiting faculty of Mathematics at UCLA and also serves as an Examination Committee Member for the Joint Board of Enrolled Actuaries.
He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the Society of Pension Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary.
Boris Scharf started in pension in 1987. Two years later, he joined Greenspan & Associates, Inc. He earned a Master in Mathematics from UCLA. He is responsible for defined benefit pension plans, defined contribution plans and 401(k) profit-sharing plans as well as New Comparability plans.
Not only is Boris our resident expert in the ASC computer software system, he also speaks five different languages (well, six including pensions)!
Hetty Vazira has over 20 years of experience in the pension field and has worked on a great variety of pension plans. She specializes in defined contribution plans as well as the design and installation of new plans. She earns the appreciation and loyalty of her clients through her attentive service and devotion to her client's needs.
She began her career at a local pension consultant firm later joining Greenspan & Associates, Inc. in 2000. In all aspects of this business, Hetty is always willing and able to get the job done!
